Welcome back to my blog lovelies, this has been an exciting day for me whilst I am writing this post. My blog went self hosted today and I couldn’t be happier with it. Massive thank you to lyrical host for helping me to set up this wonderful new space. Today’s post I wanted to share with you how to be and feel more confident. It’s important to feel confident within yourself, it helps with every single thing we do. Talking to new people, doing new things, reaching out of our comfort zones and being the best version of ourselves.
Confidence comes easy to some but not to many. I have struggled with years with my confidence and I’m only now starting to learn how to feel confident and begin to truly love myself, so I wanted to share what I’ve learnt so far in the hopes that it will help some of you become a more confident version of yourself too.
Change your mindset
Talking to yourself in a negative way is never going to allow you to become a confident person, I know I definitely am guilty of doing this most days but I’m trying to retrain my thoughts into thinking more ‘I can do this, I am good enough’ rather than ‘I’m not good enough, I can’t do it’ it is difficult but it can be done. For example when you wake up, just look at yourself in the mirror and say something positive about yourself, if you do this every day you will start to see a change in your thoughts and the way that you look at yourself.
Say yes to more
This may seem odd but saying yes to more things that are usually out of your comfort zone will boost your confidence. I’m not saying you should say yes to everything if you don’t want to. Just try saying yes to a new opportunity that arises or saying yes to going to a party, something you usually wouldn’t say yes to because you aren’t feeling confident. Believe me you will start to see a change in your confidence.
Talk to new people
Are you always the one sat with your friend with their group of friends but too shy to speak to any of them? I’ve been there. It’s not easy talking to new people but it can become really easy and boost your confidence too. Something as simple as asking their name or introducing yourself and before you know it you will do it without noticing! Interacting with new people is a big confidence booster and you gain new friends too!
Change something you’re not happy with
I’m definitely not saying change everything about you. But I know especially us girls constantly get down about our hair, make up, clothes and sometimes we just want to transform ourselves. Have a little makeover and feel good again. This can be a really easy way to boost confidence, even just dying your hair or buying some new make up for a new look. It’s really important to look after and pamper ourselves. As they say, when we feel our best we do our best.
Create an outlet
If you’re very shy and couldn’t even imagine talking to a stranger, start by creating a platform online, even if it’s anonymous. This way you can experience talking to people online which I find is far less scary and much easier to be yourself. When I started my blog and started using social media I grew around such a lovely community. I am grateful to this day to have such amazing and inspiring people who I follow and chat to online!
